Plan your perfect wedding

Located on the edge of the Wiltshire market town of Devizes, Braeside House is the perfect venue to create a unique celebration, where family and friends can come together to celebrate in beautiful, exclusive surroundings.

We are also a perfect child friendly venue for those who feel children form an important part of the celebration. Activity staff can be booked to entertain the little ones during the key moments of the day likes speeches and other formalities.

The Main House and the dining hall (excluding a marquee) can hold:

Ceremony – Up to 60 seated in the Rose Room
Wedding breakfast – 60 seated in dining room
Evening Reception – 150 across the Lounge, lecture room, bar and terrace

With a large marquee on the upper lawn, there would be capacity for up to 250 guests for the Ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception.

What's included as standard

We give you the freedom to plan every detail from your favourite caterers, suppliers and decorations.

Included in the hire cost as standard is:

  • Exclusive hire of the Main House (including the dining room) and grounds 09:00 – midnight
  • Bridal dressing room and private lounge
  • Cash/card bar from midday – 23:00 on  Saturday
  • A member of Braeside staff on hand to support you throughout the planning and on the day until 20:00

At Braeside House we can offer a number of different packages to tailor your wedding booking to your needs. In addition to the standard hire charge, please see below the hire charges and optional extras to make your day unforgettable!

Accommodation

All accommodation is included in the Weekend package. In the main house we have 4 ensuite twin/double rooms plus 7 multiple bed rooms  – perfect for kids and families

Friday evening – £100 per ensuite, £50 per multi bedded rooms.

Saturday – £1000 for all the rooms in the main house

Catering

If you are looking for something a bit different for your catering then we can offer the following:

  • Afternoon tea
  • Barbecue with sides and salads
  • Pizza from the pizza oven
  • Hog roast with buns and salads
  • Chicken sliders with sides and salads
  • Indian street food
  • Full English/continental breakfast Saturday/Sunday morning

£25 per person/£15 children 8yrs and under. Breakfast £12 per person/£8 children 8yrs and under

If you are looking for a traditional wedding breakfast we work with some fantastic local caterers that we would be happy to recommend. This would be charged directly by the caterer.

Activities

We have great facilities onsite to keep kids (and adults!) entertained through the day. Here are a few option and ideas:

  • Climbing wall and zipline. Minimum 2 hour session with up to 20 participants. £300 for 2 hour session, £60 per additional hour.
  • Highropes (crate stack, parallel poles, leap of faith). Minimum 2 hour session, 12 participants per instructor. £100 per hour per instructor

Decorations and venue dressing

A set of wedding decorations is available for hire where the wedding party dress the venue themselves. Please arrange a visit to view what we have to offer. £50 hire charge

If you would like the Braeside team to take some of the stress away and dress the venue for you, we will be more than happy to help. We will then use our own decorations and incorporate any personal touches you would like to add to the decor. This service includes dressing the ceremony room, dining hall, tables and the main house entrance. £150

  • The Ceremony

    We are a licensed venue and we have various options for the ceremony. In the main house we have the Lounge (40), Rose room (60) and Porch (12). Outside we have the Loggia (40) and pagoda (8 under the covered area with up to 120 guests on then lawn)

  • Drinks

    We have a well stocked bar full of beers, wines and spirits both local and from across the world. The bar will be staffed on Saturday and upon request on Friday. We can arrange reception drinks, wines and beers upon request.

    Reception drinks package example – £22 per guest

    • Glass of Champagne when guests arrive
    • 2 bottles of wine per table (based on 8 guests per table)
    • Glass of bubbly for the toast

    We are happy to arrange a drink package to suit your taste and budgets. All drink consumed onsite must be purchased through us. We are licensed to 11pm but we may be able to extend this upon request.

  • Additional accommodation

    We have an additional accommodation cabin available for extra sleeping space. The Laurels has 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps maximum of 14 people. This is ideal for a couple of families who may want to be slightly separate from the main accommodation.

  • Entertainment

    We are licenced for live and recorded music so you are free to boogie the night away to your favourite tunes. Because of our location we can have live music outside until 11pm but don’t despair, you can carry on the fun inside in our large reception rooms.

    You can bring along your favourite band/DJ no with extra cover charge – this is already included in your hire charge. Alternatively, we would be more than happy to help source the right sounds to get everyone moving.

  • Marquee

    If you wish to expand your guest list using a marquee, contact us for a competitive quote.  Marquees can include:

    • Space for up to 120 guests
    • Ivory pleated lining
    • Cord carpet on suspended floor
    • Vintage chandeliers
    • Full lighting including festoon, fairy and uplighting
    • Tables and chairs
    • Dance floor and stage
    • Pagoda bar area
