Braeside Education Centre is centrally located in rural Wiltshire on the north west side of the market town of Devizes. There is excellent access to the countryside, Kennet and Avon canal and Devizes Town, many places of interest are within easy walking distance and within a short drive are the world heritage sites of Stonehenge and Avebury, and historic cities of Bath and Salisbury.
Braeside has been established over the past 40 years and has gained an excellent reputation for conferences, outdoor learning/activities and intensive studies both daily and residential in nature.
The majority of our courses are tailor made to the groups requirements, normally in discussion with one of our experienced staff who advise on and lead activities.
The Braeside site itself covers approximately 4.5 acres and has a range of activities for both children and adults as well as lawns and gardens. There is onsite parking for 30 cars, minibuses can also access the site but coaches have to stop at the entrance.
The main house is an interesting building dating from 1900 but built over an older property (dating back to Tudor times). It has been a private house, grammar school and currently an outdoor education and conference centre.
Braeside has accommodation for up to 85 persons in hostel type rooms, with shower/toilets spaced out between floors/units, these are managed to give facilities appropriate to different age groups, depending on requirements. For young person groups there are designated group leaders’ rooms. For all groups there are several large rooms for meeting, teaching and socialising in and all have access to modern audio-visual facilities, including WiFi access. There is a restaurant catering for both residential and day groups.
